Terms of Service

These terms apply to the tutoring services provided by Hill One Elite Learning Centre (registration no. 598666, “we”), operator of the mathstogo platform, and to the mathstogo.com website and related systems. Using our services means you accept these terms.

1. What we provide

Mathematics tutoring for primary and secondary students, including lessons, learning materials, marking of work and progress reports. Lesson format, timing and fees follow the arrangement agreed with the parent at enrolment.

2. Accounts

Each student receives a login ID for viewing their own lesson records and work. Login IDs and passwords must be kept secure and not shared. Tell us immediately if you suspect an account has been compromised. We may suspend an account that is being misused.

3. Scheduling, absence and make-up lessons

Lesson dates and times are agreed at enrolment. Leave, rescheduling and make-up arrangements follow what was agreed at enrolment or subsequently; please tell us as early as possible so arrangements can be made. During severe weather (tropical cyclone signal No. 8 or above, or a black rainstorm warning), in-person lessons are cancelled and made up later; online lessons normally proceed, and we will notify you of any change.

4. Fees

Fee amounts, billing cycle and payment method follow the arrangement agreed at enrolment. We may suspend lessons where fees remain unpaid past their due date, until settled. Refunds, where applicable, follow the terms agreed at enrolment.

5. Materials and copyright

Our materials, questions, notes and marking are for the personal study of enrolled students only. They may not be copied, redistributed, published, sold or used commercially, or passed to people who are not our students, without our written consent.

6. Acceptable use

You must not attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours, interfere with the system or bypass its security, upload unlawful, infringing or inappropriate content, or transfer or lend your account to someone else.

7. Automated marking

Some marking is assisted by artificial intelligence. AI produces a preliminary suggestion only; scores and comments are reviewed and decided by a teacher, and every comment sent to parents is approved by a person. If you disagree with any marking, contact us and a teacher will review it again.

8. WhatsApp messaging

Where a parent gives us a WhatsApp number and consents, we send lesson comments, reminders, payment notices and schedule changes. Parents may opt out at any time by replying STOP; opting out does not affect the student’s lessons. See our Privacy Policy.

9. Limitation of liability

We take reasonable care to provide a stable service and accurate teaching content, but we do not warrant that the system will be uninterrupted or entirely free of error. Where a network failure, a third-party outage or an event beyond our control interrupts the service, we will restore it as soon as we can and arrange make-up lessons where reasonable, but we are not liable for indirect losses arising from the interruption. Learning outcomes depend on many factors and we make no guarantee of examination results.

10. Ending the service

A parent may end the course at any time by telling us; agreed notice periods and fee arrangements apply. We may end the service where these terms are seriously breached. Data retention after termination follows section 6 of our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to these terms

If we revise these terms we will update the “Last updated” date above, and notify parents of significant changes.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
